During his travels, Koeth and his party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Koeth discovered the rest of his party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Koeth fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing his own horrible transformation.

History: He got into the Slave Trader business at a young age. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. He is searching for what he claims is his rightful reward.

Personality: He is a man who does what he needs to. He will acquiesce to black mail and extortion to avoid trouble. He has zero loyalty and will suck up to whomever is within range, in the hopes of being moved to a better position.

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. Rolen was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Rolen decided he wanted neither the life of his mother nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. He used his abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.

He found a children's book about a Elf Sorcerer who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero.
