History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. At some point he was captured by brigands and was tortured. After several years of this he finally managed to escape. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and he desires to right it; and many brigands want him driven away
