He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Map Maker they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Slave Trader, and he later adopted a second son.
