History: Naeris lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. History: Varis was raised in a hard working conservative environment. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.

Personality: He misses his glory days as an athlete. He does not mind his job, but it is boring in comparison. He is always in debt, since he spends his money on lavish parties and gifts for friends

History: Born the oldest of a large religious western family, he was no stranger to responsibility. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Marshal. He ran away from his former home and has been making his living as a Marshal for the past few years.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge; and balancing his hectic life and new marshal responsibilities is difficult
