Recently a tribe of orcs attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Personality: He has two modes he varies between. On the job he is cold, steely and emotionless. Off the job he is a party animal. He does not trust anyone and sleeps with one eye open.

History: Varis was raised in a hard working conservative environment. In his youth he was a Glassblower, and wanted to be a champion fighter when he grew up. He was working during a period of war, and as one of the natives he lived in fear of joining the others in being slaughtered. He saw the brutality and swore off his fighting aspirations, taking his younger brother on his back after seeing his parents die, and fled the country. Recently a tribe of brigands attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Personality: He is erratic and paranoid. He believes illithids are coming to abduct people. He enjoys reading and quiet.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He dropped out of school before completing his studies. He ran away from his former home and has been making his living as a Barrister for the past few years.

Motivation: His religion dominates his actions; and sabotage a competitor

History: His arcane talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: He has money and likes to spend it; and he uses money and sex appeal to get what he needs

He is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure he is not cheated out of a speck.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. In his formative years he discovered how persuasive he was. He began using that to his advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
