History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Heian grew up listening to his mother's many stories. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. Lacking all sense, he decided to go on an adventure. He picked a direction and started trekking.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. He became part of the deadliest team of assassins in recent memory. A botched job caused the group to be disbanded. Being a Tanner kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

Personality: He considers himself a man of culture and sophistication. He likes a good challenge to his wits. He spends most of his days drinking in the Inn, the rowdiest and most dangerous establishment in town. There he gambles, wrestles and listens to stories told by travelers.

History: He was born at the edge of vast island. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Servant work with an outfit from a few towns over. Servant work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature ceremonial dagger.

History: Born in the south to a Layabout, Uthemar learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Layabout responsibilities is difficult.

History: He was born in the south, but his parents moved at a very young age to the east. At a young age he wooed the heart of his future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: Wishes to resurrect an old love; and to share knowledge with the world
