History: The child of southern immigrants he idolized his father. Varis was born on a far southern forest where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Painter. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

Motivation: His spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Riardon was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He's repulsed by the PC; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.
