He was preparing to flee to the south, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his father from journeying south to reunite his family. By chance he met his sister recently and the two have been together since.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. In his 16th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Lucan alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.
