History: Lucan was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Sorcerer, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Sorcerer in service of a powerful lord somewhere. From there he went from mercenary job to mercenary job. He now travels the world, in search of power and loot.

His mother taught him the rudiments of the Ruler arts, while his father instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. He struck it rich when he found rare goods in large quantities. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

Personality: He misses his glory days as an athlete. He does not mind his job, but it is boring in comparison. He refers to his adoptive father for almost all things he is unsure about, which are numerous. He is very much still a child and has not developed a drive for self-dependency.

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Varis was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

Personality: He is extraordinarily eccentric. He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of illithids may trigger it at times.

History: He was born in the east. Because his mother participated in the massacre of their homeland, illithids burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the east, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his father from journeying east to reunite his family. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: Many illithids want him driven away.
