History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. Personality: He is quite rude, and likes to deride his opponents skill and shout insults at them. The war was a terrible time for him, and Varis does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Varis was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Varis's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature sickle.
