His partner is his best friend in the world. The two are very close despite being more or less each other's opposites. History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Quarion was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Quarion's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He has became unsatisfied with his lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. He took after his father in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his father taught him to defend himself. When his father died while fighting gnolls, the young Heian began to lead the lost caravan. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Many gnolls want him driven away; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and he desires to right it
