His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. Recently a tribe of illithids attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. History: Born in the west his family was never financially stable. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and his religion dominates his actions
