Personality: He does not believe in betrayal or weakness as things to be tolerated. He refers to his adoptive father for almost all things he is unsure about, which are numerous. He is very much still a child and has not developed a drive for self-dependency.

History: Born in the south his family was never financially stable. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Jeweler hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

Varis took refuge in the ruined castle and found the beat up pickaxe and armor he uses now. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.

He is however nostalgic and wants to reunite with his old comrades. He has some compunction and patriotism and will work for the government before all other clients.

History: He was born on a small isolated farm. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.
