The gnolls captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: He comes from a rich northern family. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Gennal grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Gennal. After months of barely getting by, Gennal managed to ambush a major caravan with a load of valuables. Instantly wealthy, he made his way to the capital under a new identity.
