History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. His mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his mother was legitimate. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Mindartis was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared.
