A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

He always admired psionic-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. He found several beat up suits of armor and, cannibalizing spare parts, he put together a working one.
