He was granted arcane powers by his dying brother.

History: He comes from a rich northern family. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and wants to work out more often
