History: He comes from a rich western family. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Arannis grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Arannis. After months of barely getting by, Arannis managed to ambush a major caravan with a load of valuables. Instantly wealthy, he made his way to the capital under a new identity.

He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He has since married many spouses, only to have them die. He claims to not be responsible.
