His partner is his best friend in the world. The two are very close despite being more or less each other's opposites. History: Born to a Hunter, his mother struggled to pay the bills. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Rael grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Rael. Being a Knight kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. Beiro was born on a far eastern desert where he grew up under the tutelage of his mother, an expert Sage. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.
