History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and he desires to right it; and someone believes him a fraud

Personality: He exudes charisma. He is a tour de force of persuasion. He also hits on women, regardless of circumstances.

History: Gifted from a young age, Varis studied abroad. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Varis grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Varis.
