Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark; and balancing his hectic life and new herbalist responsibilities is difficult

Personality: While he is on the job, he is grim and serious. He understands how dangerous the world is and the need to stay safe. He is very protective of his business, his home, and his spouse. He is willing to work with less than legal methods but maintains the front of legitimacy.

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. At some point he was captured by drow and was tortured. After several years of this he finally managed to escape. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by drow. Erdan was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the drow.

His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees.
