History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Varis was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Varis grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Varis. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions.

Description: This northern man wears many layers of old clothing at all times. His clothes are grease stained in places. He keeps his chestnut hair in a pixie cut. His thin eyebrows rest above his beady violet eyes.

Personality: His voice, at times compared to that of a Nymph, lambasts those who consider themselves "civilized" with snide, belittling remarks; the subtle growl he speaks with growing louder in doing so, one can find it most pronounced, despite the otherwise natural purity of his tone. He keeps company with all sorts of races to see how they think and challenge minds foreign to his own.

History: Azaki was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. His first spouse was a Navigator, they had one son, but his spouse won total custody. Without his spouse to temper him he grew out of control. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Navigator they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Fisher, and he later adopted a second son.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his brother; and his relatives are trying to arrange a marriage

Sporting a white mohawk and bushy mustache this man's hair draws a lot of attention. His face is full, his cheeks are rosy, and he always seems to sport a perfect smile and a twinkle in his brown eyes.

Personality: He is a jovial happy person, but he is convinced people are living their lives too quickly. The occasional robbery is his preferred attention getting crime, but he mainly uses his means for meeting his own perverse desires.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. Erdan was born on a far northern plains where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Bather. As of late he has set up a hidden staging nest where he ambushes people he hires for escort.

Motivation: He has decided he is irredeemable; and he feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help

Description: A well shaped man just over fifty, he wears dark leathers with embroidery. His blonde hair and beard is wavy and long. His violet eyes lackadaisically let the world flow into them.

Personality: While he acts the brute, he is far gentler than he would appear. He has a cruel streak; something he gained from his previous mentor. He harbors resentment against his former mentor.

History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He hasn't been sleeping well lately.

Motivation: To get a good night's sleep.
