When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: Koeth hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: Money/treasure; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it

Description: A middle-aged man, he wears a robe, a symbol of the four houses of cards around his neck, and a flail on his belt, and is pretty ugly. He has moderate length red hair. His voice is smooth and creepy, always level, but somehow just slightly unnerving.

Personality: Cocky and sure of himself, he believes he is the best Dyer born in the past three hundred years. He refers to his adoptive mother for almost all things he is unsure about, which are numerous. He is very much still a child and has not developed a drive for self-dependency.

History: He got into the Dyer business at a young age. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Dyer. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

Motivation: His relatives are trying to arrange a marriage; and marry his brother to traveling adventurers

Personality: In the realm of puns, he cannot help himself. He feels obliged to make them. He is often prim and proper but will on occasion tell either really disgusting or offensive jokes, which seem out of character.

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his father. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.
