Charles's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He would ruin relationships and cause injury. He was reprimanded several times before being given his current form and forced to learn humility.

Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, he decided to travel. His rounds led him into the Army with a few individuals who would become his life-long companions. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the plains due to the painful memories there. Lance took refuge in the old dungeon and found the beat up falchion and armor he uses now. After a long history of fighting, Lance and his spouse have recently divorced.
