At a young age he wooed the heart of his future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. Some 4 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Gilbert never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his father had trained him before.

Personality: He is a Adventurer first and foremost. He believes firmly that knowledge should be universal. He is however nostalgic and wants to reunite with his old comrades. He has some compunction and patriotism and will work for the government before all other clients.

History: Trained by his father for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. Conrad abandoned his home at a very young age, living in the fields and plains. He survived everyday through hunting and stealing from passersby. He did whatever it took for him to survive. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and he wants to meet his childhood hero

Personality: He is intelligent and cunning, but he will too often allow his rage to get the better of him. He will lose his cool and rely on brute force to carry the day. He also has developed a complete distrust of the Spice Merchant profession.

History: A child with a great deal of music talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. He has worked as a Armorer like his mother before him.

Personality: While he acts the brute, he is far gentler than he would appear. He lacks moral complications. He does what he is told to by employers but not much else. He spends his money on whatever he fancies at the time.

History: The child of southern immigrants he idolized his mother. In his 16th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his mother impaled in their home, and his father beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: He's in love; and he has a crush on the local animal trainer
