History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Arnold grew up listening to his mother's many stories. His mother disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his mother, he was betrayed dozens of times. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Navigator responsibilities is difficult.

Personality: He has schizophrenia that causes him to hear things that aren't there and will sometimes respond to them. The war was a terrible time for him, and Shane does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. He struck it rich when he found rare goods in large quantities. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: He is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army

History: His father raised him in a mountain cabin. Richard liked to wander the woods near his home when he was young, something he still likes to do at least once a week. He never liked modest clothing or shoes, so he would wander the woods barefoot and lightly dressed, and he developed a good sense of balance and learned how to climb and swim well. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

History: He was born into a rich family. From his teen years he was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on him. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.

Motivation: He is content; and a deep hatred of illithids
