History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He worked as a nervous Carpenter and found it very stressful. He was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of specialists.

Personality: He is a sleazy, sleazy guy. He has no qualms about using his powers of suggestion to get people to do what he wants. His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Aldous is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: He got into the Engraver business at a young age. He worked as a nervous Engraver and found it very stressful. He leaves a trail of broken hearts and full pockets wherever he goes.

Personality: He believes mankind has become decadent and spoiled by the march of civilization and an end should come to life as we know it. He invented a lineage for himself and claims to be descended from several legendary heroes.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Motivation: He has money and likes to spend it; and he has passion for adventuring and risk

History: Born to a Sellsword, his mother struggled to pay the bills. He helped his mother out around the business and became quite the natural. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: He is unsatisfied with his job; and balancing his hectic life and new detective responsibilities is difficult

Personality: He likes to fabricate stories about his past exploits and how crazy he is, but in actuality he is rather bland. As long as the job gets done he does not care how it got done.

History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. While he appears to be a normal Human, he's... not quite right. Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: To find somewhere to settle down; and to end his boredom
