History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. Some 5 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Charles never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his father had trained him before.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Manfred was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. As a young child he wandered into the woods despite his father's warnings against it. Afterwards he claimed he had encountered illithids who tried to eat his hand. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Manfred was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the illithids.
