It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the south. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He is a bit of a kleptomaniac; and he feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help

Description: A stocky lighter skinned man, he wears a tan shirt, with a white mid length shorts with white tights and flats, usually wearing a coat over them. He has styled his brown hair well, parting it to the left. His skin is flawless and his blue eyes scan people very quickly.

Personality: His voice, at times compared to that of a Nymph, lambasts those who consider themselves "civilized" with snide, belittling remarks; the subtle growl he speaks with growing louder in doing so, one can find it most pronounced, despite the otherwise natural purity of his tone. He is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure he is not cheated out of a speck.

History: Bernard hails from a village terrorized by orcs. He has had some formal dancing training, and achieved minor success. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Retire the richest man in the east; and a deep hatred of orcs

Personality: He snorts whenever he laughs or is feeling confident. He loves his children and doesn't want them to worry about him. He loves to share his poetry with anyone who is interested.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. His mother worked until he suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. He had to support his now crippled mother and took his mother's old job. Recently a tribe of illithids attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Dean fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Personality: In the realm of puns, he cannot help himself. He feels obliged to make them. His philosophy is that everyone needs a friend and as such shows hospitality towards all.

History: He got into the Ploughman business at a young age. In his 18th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his father impaled in their home, and his mother beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He inherited the family business which he has now maintained for 6 years.
