Personality: Prone to second guessing himself, he comes off as nervous. To his fellows he is seen as friendly and intelligent, but is angry and unforgiving to the so called fatcats and any who do and have associated with them.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. He took after his mother in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his mother taught him to defend himself. When his mother died while fighting dire rats, the young Bertram began to lead the lost caravan. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: Alex lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Human companion (his 'brother'). He has dedicated himself to building a better village for his children.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his brother; and he loathes his own lifestyle

History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. A freak accident while working with his Dyer mother left him crippled. He hasn't been sleeping well lately.
