History: Born in the east to a Ruler, Bernard learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. He helped his mother out around the business and became quite the natural. He tends to his Ruler job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it; and further expansion of business
