History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. In his 18th year, his parents were killed by a orcs raid, leaving Gerard alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.
