History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Miles was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. Through the years after Miles was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Miles's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. After a long history of fighting, Miles and his spouse have recently divorced.

History: The child of southern immigrants he idolized his father. His father was a soldier and died while he was still young. Bertram was left his father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He now owns his own business.
