History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Ralf was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His first spouse was a Sailor, they had one daughter, but his spouse won total custody. Without his spouse to temper him he grew out of control. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Miles was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. In his 13th year, his parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving Miles alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Lacking all sense, he decided to go on an adventure. He picked a direction and started trekking.

History: His father raised him in a mountain cabin. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature axe.
