It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

His eyes are hazel and he is always smoking a pipe.

Personality: He has a massive crush on the younger sibling of the Stylist who has hired him part-time. He constantly seizes attention wherever he goes and has come to expect this respect from everyone. He likes to think of himself as merciful, but nonetheless is very strict.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. Brilliant and gifted he never wanted to apply himself. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Knight. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. A gifted student he started as a Carpenter, but he got bored and became a Miller. He has worked as a Miller like his mother before him.

Personality: He never swears and excessively uses polite adverbs when speaking. A true patriot, Bernard would do anything for his country. He is fiercely protective of his fellow citizens and foreign allies.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. His mother disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his mother, he was betrayed dozens of times. By chance he met his sister recently and the two have been together since.

Personality: He has two modes he varies between. On the job he is cold, steely and emotionless. Off the job he is a party animal. He does not believe in violence as a means to an end. He is a dedicated Bookbinder but believes his peers are too gung-ho.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. A gifted student he started as a Barber, but he got bored and became a Bookbinder. He's also a talented Barber, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark; and to be a barber again
