He was a general practitioner in the east for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way west. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: He was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: He hates illithids. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He is cautious and jumpy. He reacts to every sound and lacks any concept of subtlety.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. In his 16th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Adelard alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Adelard was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the illithids.
