History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Bernard was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He worked as a nervous Mayor and found it very stressful. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. Cory was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Cory decided he wanted neither the life of his father nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. Recently a tribe of gnolls attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Cory fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

History: Gerald was raised in a hard working conservative environment. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Guard. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark; and he's looking for his big break

Personality: He will use flattery and sarcasm to attack and weaken his opponents. Despite his formidable combat skills he remains a coward. He works hard and plays hard.

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. A few years later when the west was not economically sound they moved to his current location. He was forced to fight in gladiatorial arenas alongside his partner. They became the best of friends and one day they managed to break out together and then went their separate ways.
