His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

Description: This petite short man is perpetually holding a beer of some kind. He wears a shirt that is too small, which lets his gut show, with a ratty pastel coat over it, marred by beers. His blonde hair is styled in orderly dreadlocks. His amber eyes have a joyful gleam in them most of the time.

Personality: He is quite gentle and does not know the full extent of his strength. He works very hard to maintain that gentleness. He is a great chef.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Alex was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Personality: He has a very dry and sarcastic sense of humor. He is not one for noise or eating so much, which is in direct contrast with his big mouthed big gutted partner. His partner is his best friend in the world. The two are very close despite being more or less each other's opposites. He also is a firm believer in the manly ideal.

History: A powerful necromancer made him what he is. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. By chance he met his sister recently and the two have been together since.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister; and to share knowledge with the world

Personality: He seems absolutely devoid of it. He stares off into space and will respond with overly literal and minimalist answers to questions. He is underhanded and not above using his wealth and body to get others to do his bidding.

History: When he was but 5 years old his parents immigrated from the south. There was a wharf not far from home where he often wandered off to fish. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: To end his boredom; and he seems to be bored by most things

Personality: He is a jovial happy person, but he is convinced people are living their lives too quickly. He is accommodating to his spouse and as such limits his hospitality. He is brave and levelheaded in the face of danger and has proven himself a capable leader.

History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. A freak accident while working with his Bounty Hunter father left him crippled. He has since married many spouses, only to have them die. He claims to not be responsible.

Motivation: Wants to have a good time and be beloved.
