History: Bertram was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. As a very small child his family refused to pay dues to a local crime lord, who ordered them killed. His mother, a somewhat powerful mage sought to protect him and cast a teleportation spell that whisked him away. After a long history of fighting, Bertram and his spouse have recently divorced.

Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Courier they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Adventurer, and he later adopted a second son.
