However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered writing. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Through the years after Gerard was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Gerard's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He has never given up on his music dream.
