History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. At a young age his father died while driving off some illithids. His mother being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train him in kukri use. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Adelard was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the illithids.

History: He was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: Expand his business; and he is greedy
