History: His divine talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. In his 12th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Roger alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and to prove his worth to the world
