History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Anselm grew up listening to his father's many stories. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Humans in the north were limited. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark.

His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm mother. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and to pay off his debts

Personality: He is not truly malevolent, but he is obsessed with writing. He constantly tries to fill his life with writing. He has a cruel streak; something he gained from his previous mentor. He harbors resentment against his former mentor.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Simon was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. When the war came and ruined his parents he was left adrift. He was a hard man then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Gunter was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.

Motivation: He is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions
