Personality: Gilbert is depressed about a lot of things. He tends to be a nihilist. He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of illithids may trigger it at times.

History: Gilbert was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his mother was employed at, doing general labor. At some point he was captured by illithids and was tortured. After several years of this he finally managed to escape. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: A deep hatred of illithids; and revenge

History: He was born in a small forest village. Since his father passed away years ago, his mother had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.
