History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. His mother was a soldier and died while he was still young. John was left his mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Anselm embodies much of what other species detest in the Humans. His actions favor neither the good nor the evil, as he answers to a power that mortal men fail to acknowledge.

History: Anselm hails from a village terrorized by illithids. A serious injury left his father unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm father. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
