History: Born to a Tailor, his mother struggled to pay the bills. He has had some formal writing training, and achieved minor success. Now he works as a writing tutor during his time off.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the east. From there he went from mercenary job to mercenary job. He has dedicated himself to building a better trade route.

Description: A plain young-adult man, he wears a simple brown robe with pastel stripes complete with hood. His auburn hair and beard is wavy and long. Judging by the bloodshot nature of his eyes and the massive bags underneath them one would imagine he has not slept for days.

Personality: He fancies himself a trickster and likes to rely on his wits to carry the day. He cares for his older siblings and likes to be recognized by them. His philosophy is that everyone needs a friend and as such shows hospitality towards all.

History: Patrick was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Fighter, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Fighter in service of a powerful lord somewhere. Being born in the south, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the south for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way west. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

Description: This tall, slender man is constantly adorned with expensive silk clothing, often dyed in bright brown and green, and wears rings and necklaces with large, colorful gems. His silver hair is braided into rings. His fair skin shows little sign of his aristocratic breeding.

Personality: He hates Humans with a passion. As such he is filled with self loathing. He is motivated by money and will often try and persuade people to work for cheap. He haggles over everything, upselling his goods and buying cheap. He is persistent in everything.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Human conditions. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Bertram was born the youngest of three triplets. From there he went from mercenary job to mercenary job. He has set out to sabotage the competition.
