He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: Gerard was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his mother was employed at, doing general labor. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Personality: He likes to make people angry or surprised. He is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure he is not cheated out of a speck.

History: A child with a great deal of writing talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. He has had some formal writing training, and achieved minor success. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.
