History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Nicholas was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. Recently a tribe of giants attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his mother and father. His mother taught him the rudiments of the Weaver arts, while his father instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. He has had some formal singing training, and achieved minor success. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
