History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Gerard was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. Personality: He is quite rude, and likes to deride his opponents skill and shout insults at them. He spends most of his days drinking in the Inn, the rowdiest and most dangerous establishment in town. There he gambles, wrestles and listens to stories told by travelers.

History: His father raised him in a mountain cabin. Miles abandoned his home at a very young age, living in the fields and plains. He survived everyday through hunting and stealing from passersby. He did whatever it took for him to survive. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark.

Personality: He is happy with his job as a Barrister. He turns his eye from what people do, preferring to live and let live. Flattery will make him almost putty in your hands.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Humans in the east were limited. He has gone from town to town till he finds a spot where he can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: Retire the richest man in the east; and balancing his hectic life and new barrister responsibilities is difficult

Personality: He hates Humans with a passion. As such he is filled with self loathing. Shane is a bit of a follower. Usually he is manipulated by his brothers into helping them out, but recently he has become more of a free agent.

History: Shane lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: A deep hatred of gnolls; and several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge

Personality: He hates giants. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He is motivated by money and will often try and persuade people to work for cheap. He haggles over everything, upselling his goods and buying cheap. He is persistent in everything.

History: Alexandre was born in the north. At a young age he loved to build and create. In his 14th year, his parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Alexandre alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and he desires to right it; and many giants want him driven away
