History: Born to a Fisher, his father struggled to pay the bills. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Fisher they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Performer, and he later adopted a second son.

History: The child of western immigrants he idolized his father. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. Since then, he has sought to make the best of life.

He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: Gilbert hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. His mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his mother was legitimate. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by dire rats. Gilbert was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the dire rats.
